Rebecca’s A Bigshot B-Cuber!
Eden’s Zero Chapter 29 Review/Recap
After escaping from Guilst, life for the crew of the Eden’s Zero has returned to as normal as it can get. Rebecca and Happy cool off in the Spa of Eden (that’s right, they named it!) and discover that Homura doesn’t do well with hot water.
You want images of fan service, go read the manga. I’m not doing that.
There are three important things that come out of this chapter, though, that I feel I should address.
First, we find out what sort of deal Weisz made with Homura:

To be honest, I thought he either wanted to pose in swimsuit photos for him or to go out on a date. Have to say, I was not that far off.
Weisz may have a lot of moments where he is cool, but he’s also a huge pervert. He’s like Sanji from One Piece only not as tough and just as obsessed with girls.
Rebecca’s Famous Now
Speaking of girls, Rebecca gets a call from Clarisse, the receptionist at the Shooting Starlight Guild back on Blue Garden. She’s overjoyed that Rebecca’s safe, and tells her that all the B-Cubers she saved have been telling everyone how awesome she was.

That wasn’t just for me. That was for the other readers who could see the outcome of Rebecca helping the B-Cubers escape would be. Thanks to them, Rebecca and Happy’s Aoneko Channel has spiked in views! That’s awesome! Except for the fact that their videos still stink. Bottom line, they decide to stay clear of Blue Garden for now.

In the meantime, though, Sister Ivry has a lead on the last two Shining Stars. Their destination: a giant monument to a group of warriors that defended Blue Garden during the Dark Ages, Iron Hill!

Just then, Pino sees someone on top of one of the statues.

It that girl really the third Shining Star? And why does she look so sad right now? I have no idea, but I think that things are going to keep getting interesting.
As I said with the last chapter, this is a transitional chapter meant to ease the readers into the next story arc. But I’m certain that the action is going to heat up once again in the next chapter of Edens Zero!

Obligatory Aftermath Chapter
Edens Zero Chapter 28 Review/Recap
Don’t you just love it when a theory about a work of fiction you like turns out to be right? You get that smug feeling of satisfaction, that look on your face that says “called it.”

At any rate, let’s get on with the next chapter of Edens Zero.

Recap
In the aftermath of the Guilst Arc, it’s confirmed by Witch and others that 1,200 years were taken off of Guilst. As for the number of people who escaped: a whopping 10%. Wow. That’s horrible. As long as Jinn, the B-Cubers, and Ilega’s girls escaped, then I’m happy. As for Ilega and fake Sister, I guess we’ll wait and see.

Speaking of Ilega, Rebecca went through a pretty harrowing experience. She was kidnapped, tortured, stripped naked, and threatened to be turned into a “toy” by Ilega. Not to mention narrowly escaping the planet before the Chronophage came..

Now that she’s finally safe, all that fear that Rebecca had been keeping bottled up to survive comes out. I would be more concerned if she didn’t deal with her experiences like that; that’s not healthy. At the same time, I’m impressed that she was able to hold it together for so long. She has an extraordinary will.
So, the crew convenes in the conference room (yes, they have one), and talks future plans. It’s there that we finally confirm what I already knew:

Welcome Aboard
Just as I thought, Homura’s master was one of the Four Shining Stars of the Eden’s Zero. Her sword is the one Valkyrie is using. Aside from looking for her, she also wants to fight the person Valkyrie couldn’t beat, the Demon King. Since Ziggy’s offline, Shiki will do. Shiki promises to fight her one day as they promised.

So it looks like Homura is going to stick with the crew now, along with Weisz. Weisz may act like a scoundrel (and a slight pervert), but you can’t deny that he’s a good person. He’s like a young Han Solo.

Also, that robot-thing has joined them. It was a part of Rogue Out, but it was actually Sister’s servant. Fake Sister forced it to serve her while the real one was imprisoned. Guess he’s a part of the crew now, as well. I can’t remember what he does, but Sister Ivry says he’s in charge of doing all the chores. Well, the more the merrier!

New Friends
I feel sorry for Weisz, though. If Sister Ivry ever finds out he shot him full of holes on Guilst, she’s going to kill him. That said, I like Sister more and more. She can go from sassy one minute to caring and nurturing the next like she is with Mosco.
There seems to be a much bigger problem brewing, however. In another location, it’s revealed that due to the Chronophage attacking Guilst, it released an evil from the past. We don’t know much about him, other than that he was the one who turned Guilst into the lawless dystopia we saw it as. He’s a member of the Oracion Seis Galatica, and he’s called:

Review
I don’t know what Oracion Seis Galactica is, but given how Mashima has used that as the name for a group of villains in Rave and Fairy Tail, it can’t be good. It seems that Shiki and the others may have a powerful new enemy to face in the future. Where it goes from here, though, is anybody’s guess.
I’m just happy that the Guilst Arc is over. It was exciting, but I couldn’t handle having to deal with seeing bad things happen to the gang. I know that’s a given, but having to wait a week to find out if characters you like are all right is torture. Next week, we’ll be moving on to the next arc in Eden’s Zero. I hope Mashima keeps improving his work. This is good stuff!
Thanks for reading, guys! Jay out!

Broly Appears! Dragon Ball at Its Best!
Dragon Ball Super: Broly Review
I could write an entire essay about how much I loved this movie, but that would not do it justice. Dragon Ball Super: Broly was everything that the fans wanted and then some! By the time I’m writing this, I literally got out of a full house, so I am striking while the iron’s hot.
Plot
Let’s start off with the basic plot. The film shows how Broly’s exiled to a desolate planetoid by King Vegeta. All because he can’t handle the fact that Broly’s stronger than his son. Paragus goes to get him but gets stuck on the planet with him, which saves them from the Saiyans’ genocide. That takes up thirty minutes. Flashforward to the present day, Paragus and Broly get rescued by Frieza’s men. Frieza then takes Broly the two to Earth so he can fight Goku and Vegeta while he steals the Dragon Balls.

Broly

Unlike the psychopathic monster we grew up knowing, the new Broly is a kind soul who can’t control his power. He fights, but only to protect the people he cares about. His father Paragus forced him to become a warrior, even using a shock collar to keep him in line. I’ve seen that kind of thing used on animals, so I loathe it with all my heart.
After spending a little less than half the film building it up, we finally get to the fight we’ve been waiting for. And it is worth it! Goku and Vegeta don’t hold anything back in the fight, but Broly manages to keep pace with them. I won’t say what happens as that’s part of the fun, but it’s the best animation I’ve seen since Battle of Gods.
Before I get into the good stuff, I want to voice the one complaint I have about the film: the prologue.
Put. The Pitchforks. Down.

The Prologue
I loved the prologue. It helps build up the universe. Although, was adapting the Goku origin story from Jaco necessary? It may be me being mad that it erases Bardock: the Father of Goku from the canon, but it seemed like extra padding. It could have been an extra short released online or something, but it had no bearing on the plot.
Now that that’s done, let’s say what I loved about the film. First off, I love how they changed Broly’s backstory. He’s no longer motivated by what Team Four Star dubs “really dumb” and a “crying infant“. Yeah, they traded off his hatred of Goku, but now he has a personality and friends.
Speaking of whom, I like the new additions to the Frieza Force, Lemo and Cheelai.

I loved these two characters, and think that including them was the smartest thing the movie did. Usually they’re only cannon fodder I never considered that there might actually be decent people in them.
New Characters

First we have Lemo, the old veteran and grandfatherly figure. He’s been in the Frieza Force since the time of King Cold. Put that into perspective: more than fifty years! That’s impressive considering the Frieza Force was almost non-existent by the time the Tournament of Power ends.
On the opposite side, we have Cheelai, the young and impulsive delinquent. Right off the bat, it’s made clear that she’s meant to be the new “Ms. Fanservice” for Dragon Ball. We get several scenes of her that are supposed to be suggestive. Case in point:

I thought she was cute and plenty of others do, as well. People wouldn’t stop laughing at this stuff in theaters. She’s more than just eye-candy, though. She has an actual personality. She’s quirky, kind, impulsive and acts on her emotions without a second thought. She’s the opposite of Lemo, and that’s what makes their dynamic work and they become the friends Broly needs to stay grounded. I genuinely hope to see more of them in the future of the franchise.
Minor Spoilers
While I won’t say what happens, I have to spoil some of it for my next good point: Frieza and Broly both live. Frieza got brought back after the Tournament of Power, and even though I hate him, I freaked out over whether he’d die. He’s a good villain, and it would be a waste to kill him after bringing back again. We will see him again, one day soon. As for Broly, he’s safe and sound. Something tells me that we will be seeing him again soon. And I can’t wait to see where he goes from here!
All in all, this movie was the hype that it had built itself up to be, and signals the start of an amazing new chapter in Dragon Ball. It may have stumbled a little at the start, but it rockets to the finish line. If this is what they came up with to top the Tournament of Power, then I can’t wait for what’s next.
I give Dragon Ball Super: Broly 4.5/5 stars. Saiyans have no limits.
Some Stray Observations
- Anyone catch the remark about Vegeta being “Vegeta IV”? Who are the first two Vegetas?
- Kid Raditz is so adorable! But still worthless.

- Cheelai= new fanservice material. See?
- Who were those other two Saiyans that were with Nappa, Vegeta, and Raditz? We never heard anything about them. What happened to them!?!
- I will pay money to see Frieza get beaten up by Broly for an hour.
- This movie made $7 million opening day. That’s another sign that anime has become mainstream!

End of Guilst. The Chronophage Comes
Eden’s Zero Chapter 27 Review/Recap
Well, that wrapped up faster than I thought it would! It seems that the Guilst Arc of Eden’s Zero is, for the most part, over. There will be a follow-up chapter or two that wraps everything up as we transition to the next arc, but the climax has come and gone. It’s established in the last chapter that there were only ten minutes left before the Chronophage attacked Guilst. It’s every man for themselves on the planet.

Pretty accurate representation of an apocalypse.

Of course, Rebecca and Pino wait for Shiki and the others. I admire the fact that they don’t panic. But then the giant tree goes berserk because “the planet’s Ether is counterflowing”, as Pino puts it. Global destruction logic.
The trees block Eden’s Zero from getting any closer, but Weisz and Homura make short work of them. Weisz can make flamethrowers out of guns now, but the big thing I took away is Sister’s reaction to Homura’s sword. She was as shocked as Witch was, which means she’s familiar with Homura’s powers. That makes my theory of Homura being connected to one of the Fours Shining Stars even more plausible.

After the two powerhouses cut an opening, Shiki demonstrates his creativity. He uses his Gravity Ether Gear to propel them to the ship, and then they punch it as the Chronophage shows up.
We then witness what happens to a planet a Chronophage attacks.

The creature swallows the planet and then passes through it, taking some of its time with it. In this case, Guilst’s back 1200 years into the past, before anyone lived on it.
Review
Guilst must have been a fun place to visit in Weisz’s youth if his stories are anything to go by, but it had turned into a den of greed and vice. Seeing it return to this state is the best outcome.

So, the Eden’s Zero crew made it off. The B-Cubers and the girls Illega had imprisoned made it off the planet. That leaves Illega and the members of Rogue Out. , I couldn’t care less if Illega died from the Chronophage, but I’d like to see more of Rogue Out. Jinn, at least, seems like he could become a recurring enemy. As for the Fake Sister, she is either alive or dead.
This was a short chapter, but that’s a good thing. It wrapped up the Guilst Arc and without any extra hassle. In the next few chapters, I want to learn how Sister Ivry got captured and what that imposter wanted her for. As for Rebecca, something tells me she’s going to find herself with several thousand more subscribers soon.

Sister Takes Grief From No One
Edens Zero Chapter 26 Review/Recap
At last! I have been waiting patiently for two weeks to see the new chapter of Edens Zero and it did not fail to disappoint. Picking up where we left off the last chapter, it is confirmed that the one in the basement is the real Sister, Sister Ivry. She came to Guilst ten years ago for a mission, but she got captured. Then that imposter started using her powers for evil.
Fake Sister tries to say that she never meant to keep her powers and just “wanted to heal her friends”, and that she worships Sister. Yeah, not buying it, and neither is Sister Ivry.

Man, she is sassy. I like her!
So she decides to throw in with Shiki as the new Demon King, but first she decides to complete her mission. Which, apparently involves stripping off her Nun’s habit. Mashima got that from Gray, didn’t he?

Well, whatever she did, it seems to have freed all the girls that Illega trapped in stone. That beats me solution of finding that stone ray-gun and hitting the reverse switch.

Shiki and the crew leave Jinn and Rogue Out behind, and Jinn does not take being lied to well. I think he crushes her head. That is dark! I just wanted to leave her to the Chronophage.
Speaking of the Chronophage, there’s only ten minutes left before it arrives on Guilst, and most people are scrambling to get to ships and leave. Lucky for the B-Cubers and the freed girls, Illega’s tower has plenty of ships. They’re going to use them to escape, but Rebecca decides to stay behind and escape with Shiki and the other.

Clock is Ticking
Ten minutes is not a lot of time before the Chronophage arrives, but I know the crew of the Edens Zero will be fine. They have plot armor! I just want to see if any of the bad guys will get stuck behind. Especially Illega.
I won’t forgive Illega for what he did to those girls, or what he implied he was going to do to Rebecca.
What did you guys think of the chapter and of the real Sister Ivry? I personally like her. I don’t know why, but she seems to remind me of someone I have seen before. I’m not referring to Grey and his stripping habit, though (Character from Fairy Tail, powerful wizard but has bad habit of walking around shirtless or in his underwear).

Happy Birthday to Ed, Edd n Eddy!

Looking back on my childhood, there were two channels that I watched more than anything else: Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. Despite its importance to me, I didn’t find Cartoon Network until the latter half of my childhood, but I got hooked right away. There were so many amazing shows on back then: the original Powerpuff Girls, Codename: Kids Next Door, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, to name a few. There was one cartoon that I loved more than all of them combined, though… Ed Edd n Eddy
God, I loved this show!! As one YouTuber who’s name I cannot remember put it, this show captures the fun of summertime and spending your childhood getting into trouble with your friends with slapstick overtones.
Ed, Edd n Eddy revolves a trio of boys known as the Eds, three best friends who spend their days coming up with ways to become popular with the neighborhood while tricking them out of their money. They then wish to use said money to buy the BIGGEST JAWBREAKERS I HAVE EVER SEEN. Look at them!

Ed Edd n Eddy are the Three Stooges
Unfortunately, the universe hates the Eds, as most of the kids do, and their plans almost always backfire on them. That YouTuber I mentioned also compared the Eds to The Three Stooges, Moe, Larry, and Curly, and I have to agree.
Ed
There’s Ed, the big yellow one with a uni-brow and no chin. Ed is the heart and soul of the three, as well as their muscle. He is crazy strong, even for a cartoon character, able to effortlessly pick up trees and even houses. Fortunately, he is a gentle giant who only ever wants to protects his best friends. His past-times are watching sci-fi monster movies, eating Chunky Puffs cereal, gravy, and pudding skin, and gushing over chickens.
Ed is also a gigantic idiot and the source of much of the show’s humor. He is almost always spouting non sequitur or thinking of some crazy thing. He’s basically living in his own world.

Ed was my spirit animal as a kid. I just loved him, and everything he did made my sides burst with laughter. At one point, I even started imitating his mannerisms. Big mistake, because that led my parents to ban me from watching the show so that I wouldn’t act up. True story. It’s one of two cartoons that I was ever banned from watching for a time (the other was Spongebob). That just made me love it more, though, and now I watch it whenever I want.

Edd, AKA Double Dee
Next, we have Edd, or Double Dee, as everyone calls him. He’s the genius of the group. A super-genius, actually, who can create complex inventions out of common household materials. He’s usually stuck with creating the machines for the scams.
Double Dee serves as the voice of reason amongst his friends, and often ends up getting exasperated at their antics and how they lead to their plans failures.
He’s not without his own faults, though. Double Dee has a compulsive need to clean and organize anything he sees as dirty or unsanitary and will freak out when he can’t. To this day, we do not know what is underneath that hat of his, but whatever it is, it cannot be pretty to look at.
Eddy
Last, we have Eddy, the self-proclaimed leader of the group. Eddy is, above all, greedy, self-centered, immature, and a loud-mouth. He’s the one who usually comes up with the scams that drive the plot of each episode, only to have them blow up in his face and leave him back where he started.
Despite being the least likable of the Eds, though, much of what we see of Eddy is a facade. In the series finale movie, it’s revealed that most of his negative traits stem from a misguided attempt to emulate his popular older brother. Coupled with the fact that said older brother turns out to be a bully who physically abuses Eddy, it’s easy to understand his behavior. All he really wants is to have friends.
It’s been ten years now since the show came to an end, and with it, an era of shows on Cartoon Network. It was the last of the 90s cartoons to leave the channel, and after that, I almost stopped watching it. But you know how that song and dance goes if you read my stuff on Adventure Time and Regular Show. Still, I loved this show as a kid, and I still consider it one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. I’m also happy that it has remained part of pop culture in the form of things like memes and gifs. So on that note, happy birthday, Ed, Edd n Eddy!

Orochi is a Pig
One Piece Chapter 929 Review/Recap
I believe that last week I said something about this part of the Wano Arc being akin to a season of the hit HBO show, Game of Thrones. A lot of these chapters are about the build up to the climax of the arc. That’s normally what happens, but moreso this time around, because of the scope of what is happening and how the Straw Hats are all off on their separate missions. If Game of Thrones has taught me anything, it’s that we need to be patient with this slow burn, because the payoff is going to be jaw-dropping.
Back to the missions. Franky took up his job as a shipwright, aside from it being his profession if Spandam didn’t ruin everything, because his boss had plans to Orochi’s mansion. Key word being had: he sold them years ago. So Franky gets fired for making a scene and then has to tell the Alliance that he can’t find the plans.

Oh, and his boss is actually that shipwright guy that Oda has been letting make cameos for years. Nice.
It seems like no matter what the Straw Hats do, they can’t seem to stay out of trouble in the end. That makes four of them have already attracted attention to themselves.
Zoro’s Wanderings

Speaking of which, Zoro has gotten himself a traveling companion, this male geisha named Tonoyasu. He’s been sticking to Zoro after seeing him beat the snot out of some Yakuza thugs, and basically being his unofficial hype man. The two of them are headed to the Flower Capital but are making a quick stop in Leftover Town.
Orochi the Parasite
In the Flower Capital, Orochi continues being a hypocrite. He’s an all-around example of everything I despise in a ruler by negotiating with more outsiders. This time, it’s CP-0, the World Noble’s spy agency. With Doflamingo having fallen from power, the World Government has to trade for weapons directly with Orochi.
Orochi decides to arrogantly flaunt his power by demanding they give him Dr. Vegapunk. Then he shoots one of the CP-0 agents, since he knows the World Nobles can’t touch him.
In fact, the only reason Orochi has stayed in power is because of Kaido. If it wasn’t for him, I think a lot of Wano would turn on him.

Back in the Capital, Sanji’s attack on the Yakuza has attracted the attention of two of Kaido’s strongest Headliners, X Drake and Page One. Both have eaten Devil Fruits that let them turn into dinosaurs, so they are dangerous. So now Sanji has to deal with that.
There is one week remaining until the Fire Festival and the Alliance launches its assault. Slowly but surely, all the players are headed towards the capital, albeit some have found obstacles. My gut tells me that Sanji should go into hiding for now and not blow their cover, but if he somehow took out the two Headliners, that would be a serious blow to Kaido’s strength. Either way, I am so looking forward to seeing what happens next chapter.
