emember how excited fans were when My Hero Academia got its first film? Some of the most elite Shonen series have made it onto the big screen over the years; it’s like an unofficial sign of greatness. Now, MHA has its film cinematic outing available in the US, World Heroes Mission, and it opens us up to the world of heroes beyond that of Japan. Unfortunately, the villain this time around is neither charismatic nor memorable like other villains.
After all these years, though, Dune finally gets a proper film adaptation. And despite being only half the story, it lives up to the epic scope of its source material.

In 2020, the entertainment world was stunned by the sudden death of Chadwick Boseman, famous for his role as the Black Panther in the MCU. Before he died, though, he recorded lines for T’Challa for Marvel What if…? In this first outing, T’Challa becomes a legendary space outlaw rather than the Black Panther.
There are two great tools to storytelling: what if? and the multiverse theory. The other great tool of any storyteller is, fittingly, the multiverse theory. The idea of an infinitely expanding number of universes lends itself perfectly to this. And the MCU looks ready to capitalize on the concept that’s been present in Marvel Comics for decades. Thanks to COVID-19, it’s been more than two years since the MCU graced movie theaters. And while that problem was somewhat allieviated by the string of MCU shows on Disney+, it’s no substitute for sitting in theaters and waiting for the post-credits scene with your friends and family. You know, when I first saw Steve Rogers hand the Falcon the shield and wanted him to be his successor, I didn’t think much of it. I thought that Sam or Bucky were the best choices to be Captain America. I didn’t even give the fact that Sam’s African-American a second thought. However, the events of the last few years have reminded America that we are still struggling to deal with our racist past. And it’s something we’ll likely keep struggling with for a long time. However, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier reminded us of something important in its penultimate chapter. That if keep feeling sorry about our past, we’ll never fix anything. And this week, the Falcon and Winter Soldier learn to stop being sorry for themselves.
Godzilla and King Kong stand at the very pinnacle of the giant monster genre. They are east meets west, mammal vs. reptile, two of the biggest monsters in all of fiction. They fought once sixty years ago, but fans have eagerly kept asking for them to reunite for a final match to see who would win. This Spring, 2021, these cinematic titans finally reunite in Godzilla vs Kong. And it is everything that fans could ask for!
Do you ever ask yourself why Captain America’s tool of choice is a shield? I have two ideas why. Firstly, it makes him look like a total badass. More importantly, though, the shield isn’t meant to kill. It’s meant to protect. That fits perfectly with Steve Rogers’ personality. Today, though? Today, we saw John Walker, the US Government’s choice for Captain America, disgrace the shield. John Walker, you disgust me.
It’s been two weeks since the end of WandaVision. The show that took the world by storm and ushered us into Phase 4 of the MCU. In this post-Endgame MCU, everyone’s trying to find their way in a world without the Avengers, no Iron Man, and Steve Rogers an old man. A world where 3.5 billion came back after five years of being dead and loved ones died or moved on. And amidst the great action of the opening to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, its clear that finding a new normal’s easier said than done.
