Edens Zero Chapter 265 Review/Recap
Well, it’s official now: Edens Zero is in the endgame. The Edens Zero is in full conflict with Void and the Edens One. The ship will explode in a few minutes unless they can stop it. And now Void is headed straight for Mother. It’s time for the final battle to begin! Here’s hoping Shiki can win without any deus ex machinas.

Recap

After realizing that Void isn’t on the Edens One, Rebecca and Shiki are horrified to learn he’s headed straight towards Mother. Left without any options, Shiki and Rebecca hop into the fighter and open the throttle. However, by using her Cat Leaper to boost their speed, Rebecca will likely kill herself from overusing her powers. Seeing this, Shiki uses his warping to teleport back to the Edens Zero. Firstly, he wants to get medicine to help Rebecca. Secondly, Witch asked him to get everybody aboard the Edens One before the Zero explodes. However, Sister and the others refuse, putting their faith in Hermit. Shiki, likewise, vows to take down Void.

After getting the meds from Sister (and Pino and Happy), Shiki returns to heal Rebecca. They catch up to Void in the nick of time, with Shiki ingesting a Cosmo medicine that lets him survive in the vacuum of space. Thus, Shiki intercepts Void in time!
Void decides it’s time for the two of them to settle matters, proclaiming that their final battle shall take place in the presence of Mother herself. In the distance, they can see Mother, much to everyone’s shock.

Review
Holy cow, that’s Mother- the living MacGuffin the entire series has been building toward! This is like the low-key equivalent of what will happen when Luffy finds the One Piece, only not as exciting since it has yet to be built up over several decades!
Now, Edens Zero is genuinely in the endgame, and it will explain and do many things. Mashima must balance the final battle between Shiki and Void and the fights against the Dark Stars and OSG. On top of that, we still have to learn the meaning behind the flashbacks we’ve been getting. And what does Void hope to gain by killing Mother if that will lead to all life eventually dying out? So many questions need answering!
At any rate, it’s nice to see that Mashima’s not stalling on the endgame. I am still determining how the final battle will go, but I look forward to seeing how Mashima answers all our significant questions.

Also, Cosmo Energy? That’s hilarious!
