This is for all things anime and manga, hence the name. It’s the best I could think up, and I think it’s pretty good.

Oden Kozuki’s Grand Adventure

After trying to leave Wano for so long, Oden finally has his chance with the Whitebeard Pirates. The grand adventure of Oden Kozuki finally begins!

The Element 4

One of the trademarks of Hiro Mashima’s work is his tendency to reuse the things he likes. Whether its a character design, a name, or concept, if he likes it, he’ll reuse it. The reason I’m discussing this is because the latest chapter of Edens Zero brings a certain group from Fairy Tail: the Element 4.

As the War heads into its second episode, the Dark Territory begins to break through the Knight’s lines and reach the supply camp. With Kirito in danger, the only one who can protect him is an Integrity Knight whose terrified of his failures.

Becoming True Samurai

Since One Piece started the flashback to the life of Oden Kozuki, I’ve had mixed feelings about it. I like them, but they don’t tell us the important things. I want to know how Oden got out of Wano and his connection to Roger and Whitebeard. Thankfully, this chapter sees the story starting to get to the good stuff. In the short-term, though, we see the Nine Red Scabbards become true Samurai.

Belial Goer, Drakken Joe’s Lair

In this double whammy release of chapters of Edens Zero, Shiki heads to Drakken Joe’s home turf, Belial Goer, to stop him for good. This should be fun!

My Hero Academia-Froppy

Red Riot Roars Onto the Scene!

It’s always important for a shonen story to give focus to the supporting cast. In this episode, Red Riot bursts onto the public stage for the first time!

War for Underworld Begins

It took us six episodes to get to this point, but at last, the War for Underworld has begun. I waited for this moment since reading about it in the web novels. I wanted it to be what made SAO a good isekai again. However, this first episode felt like a repeat of the Battle of Ice and Fire from Game of Thrones. The difference is that this time we can see what’s going on.

Nine Red Scabbards Assemble

A few weeks ago, Act 3 of One Piece’s Wano Arc started, to fans joy. However, it then immediately shifted into another one of Oda’s world-building flashbacks. In this case, it’s the origins of Oden Kozuki and his retainers, the Nine Red Scabbards. The last chapter saw Oden take up residence with Yasuie after his dad disowned him. The legend of Oden continues to grow in this chapter!

Rebecca Sees the Future

With their adventure on Sun Jewel behind them, the crew of the Edens Zero seems stronger than ever. Homura’s now taken Valkyrie’s role as the Sword of Eden, and Rebecca finally has her Ether Gear. However, events in this chapter seem to indicate a dark future. One that only Rebecca may be able to stop.

Fighting Fate

After a two week break, My Hero Academia returns with a new episode. A chance encounter with a villain forces Midoriya to make a difficult decision. Not long after, he learns why All Might and Sir Nighteye split up, and All Might’s task of fighting fate.

Night Before the Final Battle

I’ve noticed a recurring theme among stories that feature a climatic final battle between two opposing forces. Right before the big fight, there’s always a moment where the cast calms down and prepares themselves for what’s about to happen. Star Wars had their moment with Luke and Leia in Jedi; and Game of Thrones had a whole episode before the White Walkers attacked. Now SAO: Alicization goes through its own calm before the storm as the final battle for Underworld is about to begin.

Machines Have Hearts

The battle for Sun Jewel’s over, and the Scarlet Women’s been sent to a fate worse than death. Even though Sun Jewel’s free, victory’s soured by the knowledge of Valkyrie’s death. Now Shiki must break the news of Valkyrie’s death. If anyone still doubts it now, I think this chapter proves for good that machines have hearts.

Sword Art Online: Alicization-War of Underworld-Vector's Desire

Gabriel Miller, Gaming Sociopath

Sword Art Online has given us its fair share of villains over the years. While at are great hat sinks (*cough* Sugou and Quinella *cough*), I wouldn’t put them on a list of great anime villains. However, the exception to that has to be the big bad for War of Underworld, Gabriel Miller. I said that he’s a sociopath in my last post. However, it’s not until this episode that shows us how much of a gaming sociopath he is.
