If I had to choose the most interesting character on The Owl House, I wouldn’t choose Luz, King, or Eda. Instead, I’d choose Amity Blight. At first, we thought she was a condescending jerk. Then we learned that she was more complex than that. She puts a lot of pressure on herself, her older siblings can be a pain, and her “friends” are shallow as they come. The only real friend she had was Willow, yet she broke that off years ago. We had our theories as to why she ended her friendship with Willow, but it’s this episode that confirms them.
I actually debated on whether or not I should review this episode now or wit for it to premiere in the West. However, I realized that you should never look a gift horse in the mouth and enjoy that we got a new episode of The Owl House. An episode that sees Luz take the next step in her magic training in a good old fashioned magic boot camp.
Amity’s been in a lot of episodes of The Owl House so far. While at first she seemed set to be the jealous rival to Luz, we’ve seen there’s a lot more to her. So, as I do with a lot of characters I like, I’ve started analyzing her personality, and what I’ve found has been interesting. However, this episode ultimately gave me a clearer look at what makes her tick.
