I know that I’m in the minority when I say this, but I don’t mind spoilers. They can help you avoid a movie that won’t be worth your time, they can save you days on a video game that has a lame ending, etc. The point is, sometimes spoilers can be a good thing. In this case, Rebecca having knowledge of the future is helping Edens Zero turn the tables on Drakken!
When I had heard about the rumor that there was a spy amongst the Nine Red Scabbards, I didn’t believe it. I had seen how loyal these men were to each other, and after everything they went through, the thought of one of them being a traitor never crossed my mind. After this chapter, though, I can deny it no longer: there’s a traitor in the Nine Red Scabbards. And you won’t believe who it is.
Last week, we saw the absolute lowest in Edens Zero give way to an unexpected hope. As Rebecca despaired over Shiki’s death and the loss of her friends, her Ether Gear suddenly activated! Next thing we know, she’s back on the ship as Shiki’s about to leave for Belial Goer. In my last post, I had hypothesized that Rebecca’s Gear returned her to the past. Now it’s confirmed. The counterattack begins!
Some of us may want to get back to the action in the present. However, this chapter gives us a vital piece of information that explains how the Alliance won’t be stopped by Orochi’s plans.
Normally I try to keep these review/recaps as shirt as possible. For this one though, I feel that would be a disservice to the subject. So, I’m going to talk about the deus ex machina Mashima pulled in the latest chapter of Edens Zero.
I heard somewhere that the hallmark of a good story is it’s ability to make you feel certain emotions. You laugh when the characters are having fun, you cry when they’re suffering, and you whoop in jubilation at their triumphs. As of today, let there be no doubt that Hiro Mashima’s made a great story with Edens Zero. And this chapter was a tearjerker.
One Piece Chapter 972 Review/Recap I rarely ever come across situations where I have no words to start off a blog post. However, after reading this chapter of One Piece, … Continue Reading RIP Oden Kozuki
There comes a point in many stories or arcs where the hero hits rock bottom. Where things are at their absolute bleakest. As of this chapter, I think I can say that Edens Zero has become the rock. Rock, meet bottom.
Normally I have some sort of introduction for these manga chapter reviews. Today, however, I have nothing. The reason why I have nothing is because I’m stumped at the name of the latest chapter of Edens Zero: “60-Day Commemorative Coin”. What kind of title is that, Mashima?
One Piece Chapter 970 Review/Recap The more we’ve seen of this flashback, the more I’ve been wondering something: how did Kaido beat Oden Kozuki? Oden was probably one of the … Continue Reading So that’s How Oden Lost!
Well, if it wasn’t clear before, I think it’s clear now. The crew of Edens Zero is facing their toughest battle yet. Personally, I think it’s about time that this happened! Rebecca’s held captive by Joe, Homura has Sylph chasing her down, and Weisz hangs by a thread. To top it all off, Jinn’s kicking Shiki’s butt! In addition, we don’t learn anything about why Joe wants Rebecca so badly.
Well, Roger, Oden, Rayleigh and everyone else did the impossible. They made it to the end of the Grand Line and learned the secrets of the world. However, this also means that Roger and Oden’s voyage must come to an end. As we reach the end of this momentous flashback in the latest chapter of One Piece, it’s time to brace for the end of Oden’s voyage.
Rebecca and Happy have been captured by Sylph, are nowhere to be found, and Shiki has to face down an old enemy to defeat Sylph. Meanwhile, the reason for Drakken Joe’s obsession with Edens Zero begins to come to light.
Rebecca’s already proven herself to be a fairly capable fighter. She’s resourceful, has great reflexes, and a good shot. However, she’s also got a lot of latent potential, and we see it on display in this chapter. It’s a good old fashioned dogfight as Rebecca fights the Element 4’s Sylph.
Even though we’ve learned more about them as the manga’s progressed, we’ve never really gotten a long look at the Roger Pirates. Until now, that is! In this chapter, Oden comes face to face with Gol D. Roger himself, and gets inspired to go on his greatest adventure ever.
