The Owl House Episode 15- Understanding Willow and Willow and Amity's Memories

Understanding Willow on The Owl House

If I had to choose the most interesting character on The Owl House, I wouldn’t choose Luz, King, or Eda. Instead, I’d choose Amity Blight. At first, we thought she was a condescending jerk. Then we learned that she was more complex than that. She puts a lot of pressure on herself, her older siblings can be a pain, and her “friends” are shallow as they come. The only real friend she had was Willow, yet she broke that off years ago. We had our theories as to why she ended her friendship with Willow, but it’s this episode that confirms them.

Amphibia Season 2 Episode 3- Truck Stop Polly and A Caravan Named Desire

Road Trip Shenangians on Amphibia

One of the downsides to shows that focus on serialized elements is that episodes is that there’s less room for events that don’t seem to move the plot forward. However, I’ve come to realize that even these filler episodes serve a purpose. When a show’s finished its run, we’ll look back on these fun little episodes in a much better light. Case in point, this week’s episode of Amphibia did little to advance the plot forward. However, it did give us two fun short stories.

Amphibia Season 2 Episode 2- The Ballad of Hopediah Plantar and Anne Hunter

I’ve Now Coined the Term “Anne Dance”

If you guys haven’t seen the new season of Amphibia yet, then you’re missing out on quality TV right now. It’s not like we can do much this summer, anyway. Having hit the ground running last week, the show maintains its momentum with meme-worthy faces. Not to mention, we see Anne doing what I’m now dubbing as “The Anne Dance.” If that blows up on Social Media, I coined it!

Amphibia Season Two Opener

Amphibia Returns to Hit the Open Road

We’ve waited nearly a year for it to come back. And while it was touch and go for a bit thanks to COVID-19, I’m happy to say that Amphibia’s here with a new season. If you guys saw my post on the season two trailer, then you know just how hyped I’ve been for Season Two. The Plantar’s are traveling beyond the valley in the journey of a lifetime. There’s gonna be danger, mystery, and more to be found. So without further ado, let’s begin the review.

Kick off This Summer With Some Great Cartoons

So with COVID-19 putting a pin in a lot of summer plans, I asked myself “what can I do to help raise morale as the summer solstice arrives?” Then it hit me: share some cartoons that revolve around summer!

Star vs. the Forces of Evil

Happy Starverserary to Star vs.

Okay, people, on this day one year ago, we saw the ending to two awesome shows. One of them was an animated cartoon, while the other was an adaptation of the life’s work of a guy that’s dragging his heels on finishing his work. Rather than talk about the ending to Game of Thrones since there’s enough hate for that, I wanted to talk about the end to the other good show on May 19th, 2019.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7, Episode 12 "Victory and Death" The Final Chapter of the War

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Ends on a Somber Note

Somber. If I had to describe the final episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, it would be somber. We’ve known for fifteen years how the Clone Wars ends, and we’ve known for five years how it ends for Ashoka and Rex. They escape, Maul escapes, and don’t meet again until Rebels. What I wasn’t expecting was how they all get out of Order 66, and it rivals the best the movies have to offer. Or video games, for that matter.

Revan faces Mandalore the Ultimate in the final battle of the Mandalorian Wars Star Wars

The Horrors of the Mandalorian Wars

Continuing our countdown to ‘May the Fourth’ and ‘Revenge of the Fifth,” I keep covering the Old Sith Wars era of Star Wars. My last three posts were about the Great Sith War that saw the return of the Sith and the Jedi put to the test. In the end, they won the won, but at a high cost. As they and the Republic looked to rebuild, though, a familiar threat emerged beyond their borders. That of the Mandalorians Wars.

The Owl House Episode 11 "Adventure in the Elements"

Feel the Magic Flow Around You

I actually debated on whether or not I should review this episode now or wit for it to premiere in the West. However, I realized that you should never look a gift horse in the mouth and enjoy that we got a new episode of The Owl House. An episode that sees Luz take the next step in her magic training in a good old fashioned magic boot camp.

Ducktales Season 3 Episode 4 "Lost Harp of Mervana"

Hard Truths in Mervana

I may not have liked last week’s episode, but I loved this week’s episode of DuckTales. Mainly, because it touched on an important life lesson in a hilarious fashion. That lesson being the importance of telling the truth, no matter how hard it may be. And, I might add, it does it while referencing some of Disney’s past work.
