Homura Sends Mora to the Glue Factory!
Edens Zero Chapter 119 Review/Recap
You know who I’ve been wanting to see get their butt handed to them on a silver platter for the last month? Mora, that sociopathic glue guy from the Nero Commandos. From his cavalier attitude as he casually murders machines, to his pesky glue powers, I hate the guy. I’ve been wanting to see him what he deserves. Then when the heroes and villains get split up for their obligatory one-on-one fights, Homura gets stuck with Glue Guy. Despite my worries, though, this chapter sees the swordswoman beat Mora into the ground. That, and Mashima makes a Marvel Comics reference!

Recap

Despite being at a signficant disadvantage, Homura doesn’t hesitate to face Mora head-on, and does a good job at fending him off despite the handicap. She even shows the extent of her Ether Gear’s power to transform into any kind of blade imaginable. They turn into Wolverine claws on her hands that she uses to tear through the Nero Commando. Alas, they fail to do any damage since he can turn himself to glue. All the while, Mora keeps sadistically talking about how he loves to see the looks of abject despair on people’s faces. As a result, Homura switches tactics, throwing clumps of dirt and debris onto his body to slow him down. It ends up working, all but immobilizing him.

So, Mora simply turns off his Glue Ether, making everything fall off of him. It was at this point that he knew…he messed up. Now vulnerable to her blades, Homura seizes the initiative, and proceeds to run him through.

Brains beats brawn, and Homura’s the winner!
Review
I was wondering how Homura was going to win in her fight against Mora? In most Shonen manga, the protagonist wins fights against tough opponent’s via one of two ways. They either dig deep and unlock a new power, or they find a way to outsmart their enemies. In this case, Homura went for the latter, and executed it flawlessly. Bravo, Homura! Very JoJo-esque.
With two of the three Commandos left, the only serious opposition is that smoke girl that Rebecca’s fighting against. Meanwhile, Weisz and Hermit are headed into orbit to stop undo the damage that Ziggy’s virus caused; if they can make it before the virus infects the Shining Stars, they should be good.
While Homura didn’t really show any major growth to her character, this chapter showed that she can think well under pressure, which is also good. Now she needs to overcome her weakness to heat so this won’t happen again.
I Give “Homura vs. Mora” a 3.5/5

Shiki vs Orc In New Edens Zero
Edens Zero Chapter 117 Review/Recap
Even though his grandpa may now be evil and/or infected by some sort of human-hating entity, Shiki whole-heartedly believes in what Ziggy taught him. Aside from a few moments in the story, Shiki has yet to truly put his ideals to the test. But with Ziggy having brainwashed an entire planet and the most powerful man in the Aoi Cosmos ordering the destruction of all machines, that’s about to change. The fight of Shiki vs. Orc will be the start of a grand test of Shiki’s resolve. Or to put it another way: he’s got to put his money where his mouth is.

Recap

The fight between Lord Shiki vs Orc of the Nero Commandos erupts! Orc’s ability to morph into various machines makes him a tough opponent at first. However, the commando finds himself evenly matched by Shiki’s gear. And then he’s caught even further off guard when he learns that Shiki got his power from the Demon King Ziggy. However, that doesn’t stop him from telling Shiki their goal: they’re going to destroy all machines all Foresta, and that will be a prelude to what will happen across the Aoi Cosms.

Meanwhile, caught up in their own battles, Rebecca, Happy, Pino, and Homura get the same speech from the other Commandos. That, and they’re told that anyone who gets in Posedion Nero’s way will be destroyed. This, of course, has no effect whatsoever on Shiki. In fact, he only gets angrier at Orc and enters Overdrive Mode. He then proceeds to rekt Orc’s s**t in a move straight out of a video game.
Review
I think that it was implied going into this that what’s happening on Foresta is going to be happening on other planets across the Aoi Cosmos. And while just destroying all the machines may seem like the best solution to stop Ziggy’s insane plans, it’s not. For all we know, Ziggy’s counting on Nero to do just that in order to force the remaining machines to follow him. In other words, things will just get worse!

Thankfully, Shiki and the Edens Zero are here to stop Ziggy’s plans, and I can see Shiki vs Orc being repeated on multiple planets across the Aoi Cosmos before this is over. If the fight against Drakken Joe taught me anything, it’s that Shiki’s going to be fighting another member of the Oracion Seis before this is all over. Bring it on!
I Give “Shiki vs. Orc” A 4/5. I love Shiki in Overdrive Form!
