Bon Voyage, Muller! And Don’t Come Back!
Edens Zero Chapter 244 Review/Recap
Remember how I said Muller was a quack and probably not a real doctor? That opinion seems more than validated after seeing how insane and dumb it is in Universe Zero. I’m not even sure how an idiot even got hired by the Aoi Empire. Muller’s foolish enough to think it could kill Shiki and Shura with a bomb. Instead, all he did was make them mad. Doubly so for Shiki since it tried to take Rebecca’s Ether and her legs.
In addition to seeing Muller get what it deserves, we also see the debut of Oracion Seis Interstelar in Universe Zero.

Recap

Having gotten the location of Muller’s lab from Amira, Shiki, Shura, and Pino free Rebecca before turning their attention to the quack. Muller tries to pin them down with his gravity powers…but Shiki and Shura no-sell it and proceed to beat its face in. Changing plans, Muller orders his hijacked fighter drones to crash into the planet’s surface.

As the defenders above watch the drones start their kamikaze, though, help arrives! The Oracion Seis Interstelar of Universe Zero (Amira is a member) arrive and lay waste to the drones. Now desperate, Muller tries (and fails) to take Rebecca’s powers once more. However, Shura rips it in two, tells it he doesn’t know how to use Xenolith’s power, and then Shiki finishes it off. Good riddance.

Review
I’ve made it no secret my loathing of Muller in the past. I even made it a point by the Foresta Arc to cease referring to Muller as a person. Muller’s an it in my eyes; less than a sentient being. However, after this arc, I’ve felt my hatred turn to indifference. Muller’s a big bad wannabe; an idiot who didn’t think to learn how to control Xenolith’s powers. Unless it has an ace up it’s sleeve, then Muller is done. Shura might keep it alive as a punching bag, which feels appropriate. It’s always nice to see a jerk get their punishment.

Karma aside, the best aspect of this chapter is the reintroduction of Oracion Seis Interstelar. Despite the mixed feelings towards its members in the past, it’s nice to see them return. Especially Holy; despite my misgivings, she’s a good person. More importantly, their lineup confirms that Justice isn’t a member of OSI in Universe Zero. It might be too soon to call, but I hope that in this Universe, Justice and Elsie get to live happy lives. Also, it was a surprise that Amira’s a member of the OSI here! I didn’t see that coming!
Where the manga goes from here is uncertain, but I just hope that Muller doesn’t have a means to activate the bombs. I don’t want a repeat of what happened in the Aoi War.
I Give “Iron Rain” a 4/5. Bonus points for what happened to Muller.

I Can’t Believe Rebecca Fell for That!
Edens Zero Chapter 243 Review/Recap
Remember how I said last week that Rebecca would be too smart for Muller’s trap? That she was only pretending to fall for it? It turns out I overestimated her abilities. She fell for it, hook, line, and sinker!! Now I feel like an idiot, Mashima! Thanks a lot!

Recap

Shiki, Shura, and Pino return to Shura’s residence on The Temple to bring the Muller down, much to the relief of Shura’s forces. However, when they arrive at what should be Muller’s lab, the Muller is long gone. That, and the Muller rigged the place to self-destruct!
Meanwhile, Rebecca and Happy fall right into Muller’s trap And get knocked the heck out. While they’re out cold in Muller’s secret lab; Muller decides he’s gonna take Rebecca’s Ether Gear for itself.

However, the process involves hacking her legs off with a chainsaw. The newly conscious Rebecca grows horrified that this might be the future she once saw, but right as Muller starts the process, “Happy” punches Muller’s lights out!

Except it’s not Happy, it’s Amira, the shapeshifting spy. Somehow, she swapped with Happy when no one was watching. That, and she ratted out Muller’s secret lab to Shiki and Shura. Now they’re mad.
Review
Mashima, why are you like this? You just invalidated my arguments from last week about Rebecca not falling for Muller’s obvious trap. Then again, I might have overestimated Rebecca’s smarts. It’s not like she’s Jotaro Kujo, who could figure out something was up rather easily. Still, though, it made me feel dumb.
At least we got confirmation that the Muller’s plans wouldn’t have worked. He would’ve just blown himself up along with The Temple itself. However, I would hate to think that this incident could’ve left Rebecca an amputee. That was a horrifying prospect.
The bigger question, though is how did Amira swap with Happy in the first place. It’s not like she had much time to pull that off! Then again, this isn’t the first time she’s duped us.
Disappointment aside, I’m happy that Muller’s not going to get away with its crimes for much longer. Now Shiki and Shura are pissed, and they’re going to tear that quack apart. That should be fun to watch.

Ride of the Space Valkyrie!
Edens Zero Chapter 241 Review/Recap
When we last left off with Edens Zero, things had taken a turn for the strange. The Muller was not only back, but in this reality, he stole Xenolith’s body and powers and used them to join the Void King. Now he’s going to try and wipe out Shura’s entire Empire, meaning the Crew of Edens has to jump in again. This time, though, they have the aid of Valkyrie, who reminds us why she’s the original Sword of Edens. However, will that still be enough?
Also, I’m taking issue with some of Mashima’s decisions regarding the Crew.

Recap

Following another recap from Xiao Mei, the Crew of Edens is back on the galactic road. Jinn’s mad that he hasn’t gotten the chance to repay Muller for his crimes, though. Laguna also gets the chance to re-meet Witch, which brings him to tears.
The main issue, though, is what comes next. Their plan was to head to the Yukino Cosmos to get clues to finding Mother, but the Muller puts a damper on them. So, they have to help Xenolith, who they’ve brought alongside Miimi and Aruna.
As it turns out, though, Muller was ready for their arrival. Having hacked the Imperial Fleet’s AI, the Muller’s turned their full force against Shura’s ship, opening fire. However, the Edens Zero jumps in to save Shura, with Valkyrie being the first to enter the fray, and she starts beating the snot out of them! Down on the Temple, though, Muller’s not worried. He has access to Xenolith’s gravity powers…and the Empire’s stockpile of antimatter bombs.

Uh-oh.
Review
Oh no, not again! I think readers remember what happened the last time we saw those anti-matter bombs. It led to so much misery in the previous timelines. They either wiped out the planet they were on and killed Witch, Shura, and Ijuna, or it sent Shiki and Rebecca thousands of years into the future. Now the Muller’s planning to do the same thing that Shiki and Rebecca did; on purpose, no less!
I have honestly no clue as to what might happen, but I do know this. If Muller’s allowed to follow through with their madness, then we’ll have a repeat of the tragedy that cost the life of Witch. I don’t want to see that happen!
Side note, I also don’t like how they’re choosing not to bring back Labilia or Couchpo. It might be for their own safety, but I think Labilia deserves the chance to reconcile with Rebecca. Plus, she might still be dying, so there’s that problem.
Madness aside, I’m happy about one thing from this chapter: the fact that it gives us a glimpse into what Valkyrie can really do. We first saw what she’s capable of in the flashback during the Sun Jewel Arc, but it’s clear that that was just a taste. This is what she’s capable of at full strength. I just hope it’s enough to stop Muller. Again!

The Muller Must Be Crazy
Edens Zero Chapter 240 Review/Recap
Can I just say this: I hate the Muller. I still refuse to call Dr. Muller as a person, my hatred remains so great. And even though we’ve had far worse enemies, he remains near the top of my hate list for Edens Zero. He traumatized Hermit, tortured Jinn and Kleene, and tried to blow up Foresta. Now, in Universe Zero, we find out that it not only took over Xenolith’s body, but destroyed Foresta. Now it’s working directly for ONE Void and duped Shura into picking a fight with Oasis.
The sooner we’re rid of Muller, the better off everyone will be!
Recap

Picking up where we left off, Xenolith explains that he’s currently sharing MiiMii’s body due to Muller’s actions. Like in the previous timeline, the machines on Foresta went beserk thanks to a virus infecting them. Unlike before, though, it was Muller this time who was responsible. When Xenolith confronted the mad scientist, he started rambling about how it was working for Void who was recruiting machines for Oracion Seis Galactica. To that end, Muller unleashed the virus to find a machine capable of withstanding the virus…and Xenolith just waltzed right in. Using an EMP to disable his Ether Gear, the Muller steals the machine’s powers, leaves Xenolith for dead, and uses them to create a new Xenolith and destroy Foresta. As a result, the real Xenolith had to take refuge in MiiMii’s body as Aruna found them.
After hearing everything, Shura and the Ocean’s Six realized they were duped, and Shura’s angry over it. While he refuses to be friends with Shiki (yet), he does end up leaving Oasis and the others in peace as he returns to The Temple. The others debate on whether or not they should get involved, but Shiki doesn’t want to abandon Xenolith like this. Back at The Temple, though, Void contacts “Xenolith” for it’s first job. Except “Xenolith” is now just calling itself Muller, having created a new, cyborg body for itself.

Review
Oh, crud. The Muller on its own was bad enough, but now? Now it’s crazier than ever before. Did you hear how Muller started rambling all that crazy stuff when it met Xenolith? Muller’s always been crazy, but it’s worse than ever. Yet, there may be a little bit of clarity in his ramblings, mainly the part about the ones and zeros. In binary language, ones and zeros make up programming. Maybe it has to do with the naming of the Edens Zero and Edens One? Or it could be a coincidence.

At the very least, it’s good to see that Shura in Universe Zero is more reasonable than he was in previous timelines. Plus, it was funny to see him get angry over the fact that the Muller was hired to work for him. Who hired that nutjob, anyway? It was also funny to see Ijuna call him out for not vetting his human resources properly. She really has him wrapped around her finger. They say behind every great man, there is a great woman, though.
At any rate, with Muller currently at The Temple, it looks like Shiki and the Crew of Edens might not have a choice about intervening. That’s fine by me; I want to rid the Universe of the Muller for good.
